Academic Advising

Advising is teaching at SNC!

During your first year at SNC, your professional academic advisor will help answer your questions about course sequencing, DegreeWorks, program planning, and all the resources available to help you be successful.

Your second year and beyond at SNC you will be paired with a faculty advisor who will serve as your academic and professional mentor.

First-year students will meet with your professional advisor at least 3 times(Summer, Fall, Spring) to discuss degree plans, plan courses for the next semester, and discuss academic progress. Advisors are available for appointments year-round, Monday - Friday from 8am - 4:30pm in Todd Wehr Hall - 124.

After your first year, you'll meet on or near advisement days with your faculty academic advsor. At these meetings, be prepared to discuss the classes you plan to take next semester, but also your educational and career goals, research, internship, or study abroad plans, and anything that will help you be successful at SNC.

Throughout your time at SNC you are encouraged to visit with a Career Counselor at least once per semester.  Career counselors are not academic advisors, but they can offer council when choosing a major, considering an internship, discern if graduate school is the right path and more.
