Steve Hyde ’96

Steve Hyde’s professional and personal journey is one of continuous learning, leadership and community impact. Since graduating from St. Norbert College with a degree in business, Steve has charted an impressive career in the technology sector, consistently striving for excellence in each role. He began his career as a marketing assistant but quickly found his true passion in technology consulting, leading him to earn both a master's of science in managing information systems and a master's in business administration. His career has included leadership roles at firms like Deloitte, Manpower Group and Alta Resources, where he helped organizations streamline their technology infrastructure and foster a culture of innovation.

Currently serving as the vice president of technology at Great Northern Corporation, a $700 million packaging company, Steve continues to break new ground in technology and security. His work has earned him recognition as one of the "Top 200 People in IT" and "Top 50 Technology Teams" in recent years. He also holds certifications from prestigious institutions like Harvard, Dartmouth, Cornell and MIT – a testament to his commitment to lifelong learning.

Beyond his professional achievements, Steve exemplifies St. Norbert College’s motto, “teach by word and example,” through his extensive volunteer work. He has coached youth sports for over a decade, volunteered in his local community, and served as a guest speaker on technology and career paths at various institutions, including the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. He’s also been an active supporter of the Roncalli Catholic School System and a dedicated mentor to students pursuing technology careers.

For his remarkable contributions to both his profession and his community, Steve Hyde is a deserving recipient of the Distinguished Achievement Award.
