SNC Ally Training 1.0

Join us for Safe Space Ally Training 1.0, an essential session that provides a comprehensive introduction to allyship and the LGBTQIA+ community at SNC. In this training, we will cover how to be a supportive and effective ally, LGBTQIA+ history at SNC, the importance of ongoing education and personal growth in your journey as an ally, basic etiquette for having respectful and supportive conversations with members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and more.

Training activities will focus on intersectionality and understanding identities as part of a spectrum as well as engage participants in scenario-based learning to explore the challenges faced by LGBTQIA+ individuals.

This training is perfect for those looking to start or deepen their allyship journey, providing foundational knowledge and tools to support the LGBTQIA+ community effectively.

LGBTQ Belonging at SNC: Envisioning a Possible Future with Data

Month of Pride is in its sixth year at SNC. What is its future? In this lecture designed to celebrate the genesis and growth of Month of Pride as well as to provide a vision for the future of LGBTQ Belonging at SNC, Dr. Craig Ford (Theology and Religious Studies) along with Dr. Carolyn Uhl (Office of Institutional Effectiveness) will present on the needs expressed by SNC’s LGBTQ community alongside a vision of Catholic identity that can meet those needs.

LGBTQ+ history extends long before the iconic Stonewall Uprising and milestone historical moments continue to be made daily. Explore some of the courageous pioneers, influential moments, and hard-won victories for the LGBTQ+ community at the local, state, and national level.

Join us for a special Spectrum movie showing at the De Pere Cinema featuring the critically acclaimed film Moonlight.
