Prior to joining the Sturzl Center, Susan worked in the fields of education and finance. She joined the Sturzl Center in 2009, drawn by the opportunity to use her experience as an educator to impact student learning and community needs.

Partnering with the director of academic service-learning, Susan provides support for faculty who are teaching community-engaged courses. She works to contribute to the impact students have when they connect their learning in the classroom with service in their community. 

Susan resides in rural Denmark, Wisconsin, with her husband Bill and has three adult children. She is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys reading and music.
