The Campus Safety Department consists professional staff members supported by St. Norbert College student assistants. Campus Safety staff members are not sworn police officers. They have no arrest powers and do not carry weapons.

Student Campus Safety Assistant - Shuttle Driver

Basic function and responsibility
Provide support for the Campus Safety department as needed, drive the student shuttle, and assist at large college events events like SNC Day, Commencement, and Freshman move in. The student shuttle runs daily when classes are in session fall and spring semester. The shuttle transports students from any building or parking lot on campus. Shuttle shifts are scheduled considering assistants availability and academic obligations.

Campus Safety student assistants must be able to work in the evening-late evening. Shifts available during the fall and spring semester, 5pm-9pm; 9pm-11pm; 11pm-1am. All applicants must be reliable, must be wiling to volunteer for shifts when needed and be willing to work as part of a team.

Duties

Customer Service
Drive the campus shuttle
Provide safety escorts
Assist at special events
Maintain a duty log
Assist Campus Safety professional staff as needed

General qualifications

2.0 or higher GPA
Good communication skills
Valid driver's license
Successfully completed SNC sponsored Defensive Driving training
Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality in working with sensitive information
Provide excellent customer service to all who contact the Campus Safety department
Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality in working with sensitive information.

A sense of humor and an ability to think creatively are important.

Supervision received
Supervision is received from the Director of Campus Safety.
