Mark Murphy joined the Green Bay Packers in 2007 and will retire in 2025, leaving a strong legacy of on- and off-field success.

Packers President Mark Murphy to Speak at Commencement

The Green Bay Packers president and CEO will be St. Norbert College’s 2023 Commencement speaker. Murphy has served 16 years as president and CEO of the Packers, with the franchise compiling a 164-97-2 overall record during his tenure, one of the NFL’s top marks. He led the organization when the Lombardi Trophy came home to Lambeau in Super Bowl XVII. Murphy has also shepherded the development of the Titletown District and a modernization of the organization.

At Commencement, Murphy will be awarded with an honorary doctorate from the college.

“One of the main reasons we wanted to honor Mark is because of his lifelong commitment to higher education,” said St. Norbert College interim president Thomas Kunkel. “He believes in education, he has himself been educated at some of the best institutions of higher learning in the nation, and he and the Packers have strongly supported the educational institutions of Wisconsin, including St. Norbert College. We thank him for his support, and we salute him for his passionate and lifelong commitment to learning,” Kunkel added.
