Kathleen Gallagher Elkins is an associate professor of theology and religious studies at St. Norbert College. Her research focuses on early Christian and Jewish texts, including the texts of the New Testament. Gallagher Elkins joined SNC in 2014. She is a recipient of the Donald B. King Distinguished Scholar Award. Her current book project addresses violence against children in the Bible.
Her teaching focuses on the political, social and ethical impact of texts that can often be used for violent or harmful ends in order to develop reading strategies that result in a more livable world for everyone, especially those who are most vulnerable.
