Finance majors prepare for work in the world of money, where banking, credit, debt and capital-markets activities shape our economy. As a finance major at Midwest-based SNC, you’ll gain a thorough understanding of banking, trading and economic principles, and learn methodologies for recognizing, analyzing and developing creative solutions to finance problems. You’ll also explore ethical issues in business finance, preparing you for a career as a principled, values-driven professional.
With a robust selection of course offerings, you can receive a Bachelor of Business Administration degree majoring in finance from SNC. A sampling of courses includes Corporate Finance, Financial Institutions and Markets and Advanced Financial Management.
Internship opportunities for finance majors abound at businesses with strong ties to St. Norbert College, many of them regional, national and even global in scope. These internships will immerse you in real-world applications of your classroom learning and provide an early foundation for your professional network.
Students who are interested in pursuing the professional designation of Chartered Financial Analyst®, are also well-served by their finance courses. In addition, students who complete the finance major will be well-prepared to sit for the Certified Financial Planning (CFP) exam.
