U.S. Census Postsecondary Employment Outcomes

Provides earnings and employment outcomes for college and university graduates by degree level, degree major, and post-secondary institution. These statistics are generated by matching university transcript data with a national database of jobs, using state-of-the-art confidentiality protection mechanisms to protect the underlying data. This is made possible through partnerships between universities, university systems, State Departments of Education, State Labor Market Information offices, and the U.S. Census Bureau. 


Student Achievement Measure

An initiative allowing higher education institutions to track students across institutions to create a more complete picture of undergraduate student progress and completion within the higher education system. 

College Return on Investment - Georgetown Center for Education and the Workforce

Links education, career qualifications, and workforce demands. 

College Insight

A resource for anyone interested in college affordability, student debt, economic and racial diversity, student success, and other characteristics of U.S. undergraduate students and the colleges they attend. 

Data Lab by NCES

A platform of web-based tools that provide the public with access to data collected by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). DataLab is for researchers, reporters, policymakers, school administrators, students, or anyone interested in education in the United States. 

Education Trust - College Results

An interactive web tool designed to provide information about admission rates, graduation rates, student demographics, and other critical student data. 

National Reporting System for Adult Education

An outcome based reporting system for the state-administered, federally-funded adult education program. 


Digest of Education Statistics (NCES)

Provides a compilation of statistical information covering the broad field of American education from prekindergarten through graduate school. 

Campus Safety and Security

Designed to provide rapid customized reports for public inquiries relating to campus crime and fire data.

SEVIS Data Mapping Tool

An interactive map that illustrates trends and information on international students studying in the United States using data from Student and Exchange Visitor Information. 

Open Doors

Provides information on academic level, enrollment, fields of study, places of origin, primary source of funding, and lead host institutions for international students in the United States.

IPEDS Trend Generator

Allows users to view Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) data over time. IPEDS is a system of 12 interrelated survey components conducted annually that gathers data from every college, university, and technical and vocational institution that participates in federal student financial aid programs. 

CUDAS-Peer

Allows users to create peer groups to compare data from home institution and a group of like institutions.

National Center for Science and Engineering Statistics Data Explorer

Allows users to easily access a large body of statistical data on R&D and the education and employment of U.S. scientists and engineers. 

College Affordability and Transparency Center

Designed by the U.S. Department of Education to provide better information to student and parent consumers about college costs. It serves as a central point to several tools that allow users to compare colleges' tuition and fees, net price, and other characteristics. 

Economic Development and Employer Planning System (EDEPS)

A tool that allows for the analysis of economic health, industry performance, population trends, labor supply and demand, training resources, income characteristics, and market potential. 

U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Direct Match Title File

Allows users to link job titles with SOC classifications. 

Higher Education Data Sharing (HEDS) Consortium

St. Norbert College is a member of the Higher Education Data Sharing (HEDS) Consortium, an organization of colleges and universities committed to sharing data, knowledge, and expertise to advance undergraduate liberal arts education, inclusive excellence, and student success at member institutions. 

RStudio

A free and open-source integrated development environment (IDE) for R, which is a programming language for statistical computing and graphics. 

The Association for Institutional Research (AIR)

The Association for Institutional Research (AIR) is the national organization for institutional research. They publish research, provide various resources for higher education research, and host numerous learning and professional development opportunities.

How Many Faculty Are at SNC?

A common question OIE gets asked is "how many faculty do we have?", to which our response is usually, "that depends on what you are looking for..."  For an explanation of the internal categories of "faculty" and why OIE can't give you a straight answer at first, see this document! Lunch and Learn Series

OIE is excited to launch "Lunch and Learn with OIE," a monthly event designed to bring faculty and staff together to discuss "data" in an informative and engaging lunchtime event.  Whether you are new to working with data tools or are an expert statistician looking to learn more about available information, there will be something for everyone.  All events are virtual unless otherwise noted. 

The format for each session will start with a short presentation full of data tips, followed by a hands-on activity where participants can try out their new skills in realtime.  Whether you learn by listening and watching, or learn by doing, these session will meet you where you are at in your skill building ventures.
