Did you know that Wisconsin’s first new medical school campus in over a century opened at St. Norbert College in 2015? That’s when the Medical College of Wisconsin-Green Bay (MCW) was established in the Gehl-Mulva Science Center at SNC. Through MCW’s partnership with SNC, we bring postgraduate medical education to northeast Wisconsin, addressing the severe physician shortage in rural areas and the projected physician shortage in the state.
Medical schools are typically connected to large universities, not small private liberal arts schools. SNC is one of the only colleges of its kind to share its campus with a medical school, which comes with many benefits for students.
As an SNC student, you’ll find that having MCW share our campus gives you access to more opportunities for collaborative research. Many of our biology and chemistry instructors also teach for the medical college, so they are able to tailor the curriculum to your future needs. You’ll have access to current MCW students, faculty and administrators, which will help prepare you for the rigors of medical school. You’ll also have the possibility of attending classes at your alma mater for medical school, or the Master of Public Health (M.P.H) degree. And our faculty benefits from cross-disciplinary research with medical faculty and staff.
The MCW-Green Bay campus was founded on the idea of partnership and community.
