What causes people to come together, divide, develop and find meaning? Are you curious about how people send and receive messages? Want to improve the lives and education of children? As part of our larger division of natural and social sciences, St. Norbert College’s social science curriculum leads to undergraduate degrees that help you gain an understanding of relationships and the world around you. We’ll also engage you on how you can use your college education in various careers to influence our diverse and global society and be a catalyst for change.
Social science majors can pursue a diverse range of careers such as child psychologist, urban planner, copyright lawyer, global trade researcher, political press agent, broadcast journalist, human resource professional, reading specialist and social worker.
Our social science alumni work in a variety of industries, from public relations and media to medicine and education, and from consulting firms and museums to government agencies and nonprofit organizations. Jobs in social science span a variety of disciplines, but what they have in common is a focus on understanding human behavior and interactions, and a commitment to leaving the world better than they found it.
