As a nurse, you’ll know that the work you do every day truly makes a difference. You’ll be a vital partner in delivering care that improves — and often saves — lives. You’ll get to comfort patients when they are afraid, answer their questions in uncertain situations and ease their pain. This type of service and caring for others is at the heart of our values at St. Norbert College.
SNC’s rigorous liberal arts approach helps you care for diverse patients in a variety of health care situations. Good nurses know to make the best decisions quickly, a skill that is strengthened by knowing how to synthesize information across disciplines. Our focus on strong science programs is an asset to SNC’s nursing program.
If you want the option to earn your Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree in four years or less, you’ve come to the right place. SNC’s partnership with Green Bay’s Bellin College enables students to graduate with a BSN degree issued by Bellin College — and they are considered alumni of both institutions.
Interconnectedness is at the heart of all that we do. The core nursing courses that you take at SNC will provide you with a strong foundation for the work you’ll do toward the completion of your BSN at Bellin College — coursework that focuses on providing extensive clinical experience so that you’re well prepared to enter any area of nursing.
Through SNC’s partnership with Bellin, you’ll earn a BSN. The program has two stages:
When you complete our nursing partnership program, you'll be well-positioned for immediate success in the health care industry. One hundred percent of Bellin graduates seeking employment obtain positions within four months of graduation. Bellin nursing graduates are especially sought-after for critical-care positions because of the strong clinical practice base they acquire during their college experience.
St. Norbert’s liberal arts curriculum teaches you how to see issues from varying viewpoints and understand the dynamics of an organization — invaluable qualities regardless of profession.
A world of opportunities awaits those who complete the program. Graduates have gone on to work in acute-care settings, long-term care facilities, public health offices, home care, occupational health care and administrative positions, to name a few. Many go on to pursue master’s degrees, where additional opportunities, such as becoming a nurse practitioner, are possible.
SNC is one of only a handful of private liberal arts colleges with an anatomy lab with human cadavers accessible to undergraduate students in pre-medical, dental and nursing fields. Through cadaver work, you’ll gain a better understanding of the effects of disease on all systems of the body. What’s more, you’ll explore the way anatomy can vary widely from person to person — experiences that will make you a better nurse.
Nursing students at SNC benefit from practical field experience. Learn how to care for real patients in real health-care settings, including hospitals, community health centers and outpatient facilities at both SNC and Bellin College.
SNC/Bellin College nursing students are eligible for the $2,500 Donna Van Asten ‘Face Forward’ Fellowship. Summer 2022 marked the start of a new job-shadowing pilot program in partnership with Bellin Health that funded two SNC students for a 10-week program. This type of initiative is proof of our continued commitment to innovation in education.
