Telephones
Telephone service is provided to campus offices, conference rooms, and certain public spaces. We have several types of telephones on campus, each selected based on the location and expected use. The information provided here shows how to use our phones as well as the voice mail system.

≫ ShoreTel 420 Quick Reference
The ShoreTel 480 is the most commonly used telephone in campus offices. It has a back-lit display and features call history, directory, and visual voicemail. An integrated Ethernet switch allows a network drop to be shared with a desktop PC (so your telephone plugs into the network jack on the wall, and your computer plugs into the phone). A full duplex speakerphone and integrated headset jack are also included.

The ShoreTel 655 is a higher end telephone with advanced microphone technology delivering superb speakerphone capability for small and midsize conference rooms.
Voice Mail
Voice mail may be accessed directly from your office phone or from any phone in the world.
Headset
While ITS does not provide headsets, a department may want to purchase one for use with the ShoreTel phone in your office. We recommend the Plantronics CS540. This headset allows you to clearly communicate up to 350 feet away from your desk. It includes one touch controls to answer or end calls. The long lasting battery offers 6 hours of talk time. This headset also includes an extended boom to improve microphone quality. (This is not bluetooth compatible.)
You can purchase the Plantronics CS540 from Amazon or many other office supply or electronics vendors.
